Whether you’ll be building your own world or adding to an existing one, however you celebrate the holidays, whatever the weather where you are, we’ve got ski villager, peppermint sugar cane, and a glittering Christmas tree in one of the world’s ultimate building games, not just of the holidays but of a generation.

If you want to jump ahead to anything in particular, here are our top picks for a Merry Minecraft Christmas:

Minecraft Christmas Build

Gingerbread House

Having a real gingerbread house in Minecraft is a far better survival game than it sounds. And if you’re feeling more of a builder, this is going to be super festive. However, there are some gingerbread house build tutorials on YouTube, but you’ll find that most will need Minecraft shaders or mods.

However, if you’re looking to make something beautiful with vanilla resources, Youtuber I’m a Wild One shows off in the tutorial above how you can do just that if you’d like to stick with classic Minecraft.
Home sweet home!

Minecraft Christmas Carousel

This baby Christmas carousel from Redditor and Youtube Minecrafter Inventor, PWB is cute and we just can’t not post it. In fact, each of the original post’s holiday themed builds would be great additions to your festive world, and the Christmas colored steam train would be a perfect addition.

The one that one is a little harder to put together from this image, so start with the easier carousel, work your way up. If you were to build all of these together it would be amazing for a little holiday village.

Christmas Tree

BlenDigi proves bigger isn’t always better with this simple-yet-detailed vanilla Minecraft Christmas tree build, but you can get more detail into custom tree builds the bigger they are. A finished job, perfectly capped off using amethyst blocks, the real star of this tree is the clever use of item frames and stained glass panes to make a star affair bauble effect.

Cozy Igloo

You can’t really find an igloo in your Minecraft world (just check the first seed below), why not build your own? Which means that you can place your cute and cozy new homes anywhere you want — perhaps in the center of an Ice Spikes biome or perched on a desolate frozen ocean. It’s your world, or maybe even the middle of a jungle! With Youtuber BBlocks’ simple house wherever you build it, you must only light it with redstone torches, as any other light source will melt your sacred abode.

Cozy Fireplace

A cozy fire to warm your chilly toes deserves a place on the list of things you need during this time of the year. This one is another BBlock, but – unlike the igloo – you can easily customize and make it your own. You can actually make this toasty fire in vanilla survival Minecraft, you just need a cheat for a Java edition.

To obtain invisible item frames to hang boots from, type in “/give @p item_frame{EntityTag:{Invisible:1b}}”.

An Entire Holiday Village

And why not stick everything above into one giant holiday village? Or take some of that for this amazing build by Makko on PlanetMinecraft. Makko commented after the original upload that they plan to make this downloadable, but that hasn’t happened yet, so you’ll just have to start coming up with your own version based on this map. This one again has no tutorial, so you’ll need to try and work from the images.

Minecraft Christmas Seeds

If you add mods you can make all Minecraft biomes white Christmas landscapes, but there are still some great Minecraft seeds that naturally have the white stuff. All the Minecraft seeds below have been checked for version parity unless otherwise stated they’re almost identical, so you can bring them into either the Bedrock or Java edition for similar results.

Snowy Cherry Grove

Seed: -5592633653095784779
Latest version: 1.21

Features: Ancient City hidden under this Wintry cherry grove biome southwest of spawn.

Their spawning mechanics typically spawn in snow so making this the perfect place to build a sweet pink holiday home. But particularly, here’s this seed, that was found and shared on Reddit, of a cherry grove tucked into a mountain valley near spawn.

Snowy Cherry Grove

Festive Speedrun seed

Seed: -4496590507308278848
Latest version: 1.21
Features: Above an Ancient City and Stronghold, and near a Nether Fortress.

This is one of our favorite festive Minecraft seeds, as it has several rare structures spawning right close together including a wintry igloo. If you’re searching for a Minecraft seed that you can ‘complete’ quickly in the runup to the holidays (featuring some chilly, snowy feels) then this is just the one.

You don’t spawn in a warm bamboo forest, instead, you must walk to co-ords x = 648 and z = 1,544, but it’s worth it. On the way you gather some essential loot from a few villages, and your destination is that igloo above. Below that is an Ancient city and a stronghold, and further down the line, this ice-looped home has a basement full of a zombie villager. Placed in a spot nearby, you’ll find yourself just a few blocks from a Nether Fortress anywhere, at x = 126, z = 274.

Snowy Structures at Spawn

Seed: 5488656216511509290
Latest version: 1.21
Features: Pillager Outpost, villages, snowy biomes, igloos near spawn.

Just spotted a really stunning snowy seed, that will spawn you right above a ravine in a snowy taiga biome, with fluffy white snow going to where the eye can see in the southwest. However, to the northeast, it’s just lush, green forest and taiga biomes for chugging ahead with your new world past the cold holidays.

That isn’t why you’re here, though, so let’s keep moving down the southwest. One note: you don’t have to go a ton too far to see some real sights in this seed. You spawn right next to a small mountain, so don’t miss out, scale to the top and you can see it leads into a large, gloomy dripstone cave. You’ve got resources aplenty right at spawn with this and the ravine.

The back opens out onto a beautiful frozen lake that for Pokemon go, Minecraft house ideas for winter and to freeze the cells in icy gear it fits as a perfect bare where to set down this loader but if you flashier want then adventure a little farther than spawn for the real survival fun.

Snowy Structures at Spawn

Ice Spikes Village

Seed: -2523273666654378975
Latest version: 1.21
Features: Icy spikes village and chunks on chunks of snowy space to build on them.

The above seed is brilliant for building in, but a little more towards survival experience. This one is the opposite; it is built all you can for a fun play through the game, but it is the perfect canvas for everything festive build ideas you’ve been thinking up for.

If you want to build in survival mode, yeah, you need resources but you still need a good head start and this seed gets you off with a cozy snowy taiga village right across from you at spawn. Kit up from there, get your walking (leather) boots on, and get trekking in the opposite direction because we’re taking you to x: 1350, z: -1970. On the way, you’ll notice why this is just the right seed for establishing long stretches of snowy plains and frozen oceans. In fact, if it’s your perfect beauty spot you’ll never get to where we’re going.

If you do make it to 1350, -1970 you will have an Ice Spikes village to wait for, on a rather harsh backdrop. It’s the rare biome; just looks incredible, personally I think a winter castle or blue dragon would be a good idea over there in this crazy biome! Or you could just spruce (geddit) up the taiga village, rebuilding it and adding to the existing houses to form your own North Pole.

Ice Spikes Village

Ice Spikes Village at Spawn

Seed: 5331737132297608839
Latest version: 1.21
Features: Two spawn villages, the backs of which are on ice spikes and snowy biomes.

This seed is easier, the one above is prettier, which is why we featured both this seed and the one above. Unfortunately, both villages in this seed are set in the plains biome, so they’re not really where you’d put your shittiest builds. However, these two villages do back onto wintry biomes. However, they are immediately visible when you spawn in the world and you just know your survival is easy.

Minecraft APK Christmas Skins

Like you might have your mind on wrapping up warm in the real world, it doesn’t bother dressing your Minecraft skin up how you want during Christmas. There’s plenty of skins for the holidays to be had, whether they’re a snuggly scarf and hat, a Santa costume or something more out there to wear, and if you’re creative enough you can even make your own. If you don’t have the stuff, there are lots of ready-made skins on NameMC for Java Edition or the official Marketplace for Bedrock. Anyway here are just a couple of our favorites.

Rudolph Skin

This Rudolph skin on NameMC is super cute and there are many Rudolph skins on the aforementioned sites, but this one takes the cake for the Christmas cookie. But there are even variants, like a cool blue-toned style and one with a Santa hat.

Penguin Skin

If Rudolph isn’t cool enough then what about everyone’s favorite flightless bird, the penguin? Hang out with the polar bears around an icy biome, and don this adorably chilly penguin skin. Though we still don’t recommend trying to take them on, there’s no fooling a simple avatar skin, they can’t be fooled.

Grinch Skin

The undisputed face of Christmas (apart, maybe, from Santa), somewhere in Minecraft someone has also covered the Grinch in a skin. If you get sick of being ‘bah humbug’ around this time of the year, download this skin and build on a Minecraft beach or forest (or wherever there is no snow).

Grinch Skin

Santa

Yeah, that’s the actual face of Christmas. You could definitely use this cute Santa skin on your multiplayer server for any festive antics, or if you wanted to just grab some festive screenshots for your friends.

Minecraft PE Christmas Mods

Craftmas Revamped

What a gift of a resource pack this holiday. Well, we covered the snowy biomes above but don’t worry when using the Craftmas Remastered resource pack, your entire world inside of Minecraft Nether is covered in snow. White turn leaves, Change sugarcane to Santa clones, Place Christmas presents every place you can.

Craftmas Revamped

Of course, the villagers will no longer walk, they will ski. Yes, I did bring up The Nether. Once Netherrack is replaced with ice, the entire deadly wasteland becomes a winter wonderland, while even Crimson and Warped Forest biomes receive a delectable upgrade.

Christmas Tree Mod

The oak trees are turned into glittering Christmas trees, and their fairy lights even light up if you have Optifine out! The resource pack itself also adds 22 colorful baubles that with mods you can adorn your world with to hang from trees, but these take cheats to hang. These can only be used with Minecraft console commands so you may only wish to use these in a creative world. After you’ve finished creating your glow around the tree, cap it off with a star with a redstone torch and place colored gifts beneath the tree’s branches.

Christmas Tree Mod

On Java Edition, if you play, there’s even a yearly bonus treat to get your giving spirit – log in on December 24 or 25 and you’ll see a world filled with gifts, as chests turn into wrapped presents. Look at sorting your inventory to gifts under a Christmas tree build, light a campfire to warm your toes, and get settled in a Minecraft Christmas.

Perhaps you’re tired of the chilly Christmas season this year and wish to spend it in the desert with Minecraft camels, but you can still bring some snow with you, using a Minecraft pumpkin to build a snow golem. Or, if this is all a little too labor-intensive for the holiday season, maybe check out some of our favorite relaxing games or some of the best PC games this holiday season.

Final Words

The largest aspect about celebrating the holiday season in Minecraft is the how many creative opportunities it has. The game allows you to truly make the switch to Christmas mood by offering festive builds such as giant Christmas trees, cosy gingerbread houses, bustling holiday villages, etc. as well as winter seeds to take you to a frozen wonderland. Furthermore, you can add custom holiday theme skins that make your avatar a Santa, an elf, or, even turn it into a sparkling snowman.

And, whether you’re writing a solo masterpiece, or finding joy with friends in multiplayer, Minecraft’s versatility makes it the perfect Christmas making playground. Get into the festive season, check out themed seeds, and get into the skin to make this Minecraft Christmas one to remember.

Mojang Studios makes its own particular change to Minecraft as the Christmas festival approaches. Since people go out shopping, open gifts have a merry time celebrating the occasion, and brighten up their winters, those developers manually change what other people are supposed to open in the game themselves (in their more sinister and twisted version of physics): the in-game chests contain a texture that looks like a wrapped gift for a handful of days.

One of our favorites is a festive Minecraft seed that has a lot of rare structures in very close proximity, including a wintry igloo. This one is perfect if you are looking for a Minecraft seed to ‘complete’ over the holiday period with its chilly and snowy feel but you want to do it quickly.

On December 24–26, chests, large chests, and their trapped chest counterparts change their textures to “Christmas chests” containing wrapped Christmas presents.
